Christensen is looking increasingly likely to depart Chelsea at the end of the 2021/22 season, but the Danish centre-back is expected to move abroad. Even though he has been linked with several other Premier League clubs, it has been reported that he wouldn’t want to join another English side.
This, then, is a major boost for both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, the two clubs on the continent who have been most seriously linked with the 25-year-old.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Christensen won’t join another Premier League side out of respect.
Barcelona will hope that they can attract him to the Camp Nou in the summer, with defence one of the main areas in need of improvement at the Blaugrana.
The Catalan club have also expressed an interest in signing Cesar Azpilicueta, another Chelsea player out of contract in the summer, but Christensen is the one looking most likely to depart once this season is up.
